Jessica Erin Mertes - Carlsbad, CA

Jessica Mertes earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University before going on to earn her Juris Doctor. After graduating from law school, she successfully passed the notoriously difficult California Bar Exam and joined Lass Law as an Associate Attorney, working side-by-side with Amy Lass.

Jessica brings both intellect and empathy to her work—qualities that make her a powerful advocate for individuals and families navigating the complex, emotionally charged landscape of Family Law. She is passionate about guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions with compassion, clarity, and strategic legal insight. Our clients quickly come to trust her thoughtful approach, her attention to detail, and her unwavering commitment to their well-being.

Outside of the office, Jessica leads an active lifestyle and enjoys taking full advantage of San Diego’s outdoor offerings.

In her role at Lass Law, Jessica contributes meaningfully to the team in a multitude of ways, whether she is drafting compelling declarations, preparing for court, or meeting one-on-one with clients.
