Attorney Information

Overview

Aram Zadeh is an associate at Coast Law Group and a member of the firm’s environmental and land use team. He advises nonprofit, corporate, and government clients on the Clean Water Act, California Environmental Quality Act, California Coastal Commission, and other compliance matters.

Aram attended San Dieguito Academy, where his senior year was punctuated by a strong urge to get away and see more of the world after having lived in Encinitas his entire life. Though he felt sufficiently remote after moving 3,000 miles away for college, some local customs were hard to shake, and he was known to wear flip flops in the snow.

Aram worked as a paralegal upon finishing his undergraduate studies—an experience that led him to law school. While a law student, he was on the executive committee of the California Law Review, where he supervised the legal writing and editing competition for the journal’s write-on. He also handled pro bono immigration cases for asylum-seekers and refugees through student-run legal clinics.

Before joining Coast Law Group, Aram practiced at one of the largest law firms in the United States, where he advised clients from a diverse range of industries on regulatory and transactional matters.

Aram is glad to be in his hometown again after several years away. He spends much of his free time maneuvering to get friends and family to play board games with him.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
