In 2017, he subsequently transitioned to a career in litigated civil matters, including real estate and business disputes. Prior to his legal work, Mr. McHugh was an investment consultant at Mercer specializing in wealth management and tax planning. Mr. McHugh is a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and the Alameda County and Contra Costa County Bar Associations.

Mr. McHugh and his wife are the proud parents of two young girls. He enjoys cooking, travel, and cheering on the Bay Area sports teams.
