Overview
Ann Surapruik is an associate attorney in the Oakland office where she represents plaintiffs in employment cases involving sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She has dedicated her professional career to seeking justice for marginalized communities and those who have been treated unlawfully.
Prior to joining Winer, Burritt & Tillis, Ann worked at another plaintiff-side employment law firm. Ann also served as a staff attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid. There, she worked on re-entry, employment, housing, and other civil legal issues, with a focus on challenging the barriers that formerly incarcerated individuals face through individual representation, impact litigation, and community partnerships. Ann also worked at the Public Defender’s office in Alameda County doing similar work.
Ann earned her law degree from the UCLA School of Law, with a specialization in the David J. Epstein Public Interest Law and Policy program. Prior to attending law school, Ann worked in Washington, D.C., doing policy work in the federal government and for non-profits, including the Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS), the Office of Congressman Al Green (TX-9), and the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum. She has also served on boards, including the Contra Costa County Community Advisory Board (CAB) on Public Safety Realignment and Khmer Girls in Action, and has a Master of Public Health from Yale University.
