He attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where he discovered his love for the courtroom. During law school, Elliott was one of only 16 students accepted into the school’s prestigious Honors Program. He also earned a position on the Trial Advocacy Honors Program, competing in trial competitions nationwide and winning 1st place in the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Trial Competition for the region.

Elliott’s legal career was shaped by several elite internships and clerkships. He interned with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office Appellate Unit, where he argued cases before a panel of three judges—an opportunity rarely given to law students. He also clerked for the Honorable Mark E. Windham in the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew, Senior United States District Court Judge for the Central District of California, gaining invaluable insight into judicial decision-making. His final year of law school was spent working for the Federal Public Defender’s Office, where he assisted in defending federal drug smuggling and high-profile fraud cases.
