    Consulted Law firm 2021-2026
    Recommends this Law firm
I’ve had the pleasure of working with this law firm for a few years, and I can honestly say they’ve been amazing every step of the way. The entire team is professional, kind, and truly cares about their clients. I’m beyond grateful for all the hard work and dedication they’ve shown throughout my case. A special thank-you to Jackland, Jacklyn, Shani, Jean, and everyone at JCL and Zakay Law Group. They’re knowledgeable, compassionate, and will always fight for you. I truly appreciate everything they’ve done and highly recommend their firm to anyone in need of great legal support. Thank you again.

    Hired Law firm 2016-2017
    Recommends this Law firm
I truly wish all law firms were like JCL. Jean-Claude was professional, fair, friendly, and took the time to have multiple conversations if questions came up. I never felt rushed. I always felt listened to, and I strongly believe that Jean-Claude care deeply about helping his clients. Not to mention that he was able to negotiate a settlement IN MEDIATION with a huge company. As soon as Jean-Claude agreed to take my case, I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I could not recommend him highly enough.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
