Attorney Information
Overview
Devon is an associate attorney with experience in general business and estate litigation. She has worked with many government agencies and has experience assisting in business litigation, employment litigation, contract review, contract-based disputes, estate litigation, and all pre-trial litigation steps associated with each.
Born and raised in the East Bay of California, Devon received her B.A. from the University of California, Davis. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Devon received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she attended on a full ride scholarship due to her academics and community involvement.
Devon has assisted with and successfully resolved many civil and probate litigation disputes through mediation. Devon's period as an extern to the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board gave her insight into the importance of seeking resolution and mediation before a dispute is overwhelmed by litigation. During law school, she worked with the award-winning Environmental Law and Justice Clinic at Golden Gate University School of Law, representing local environmental groups to help protect our waterways and provide clean water to low-income farming communities through law and policy litigation.
In her free time, Devon is a member of the Soroptimist International of Benicia, where she contributes her time to the scholarship and grant program raising money and awarding scholarships to women in need to complete their undergraduate or trade school programs.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
