Todd Weaver - Colorado Springs, CO

Todd Weaver is an associate in the firm’s Environmental Practice Group. His practice encompasses all aspects of environmental law. Mr. Weaver advises clients regarding compliance with all major federal and state environmental laws and regulatory programs including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERLCA, and EPCRA. He also represents clients in environmental litigation in federal and state courts and in enforcement and administrative proceedings before state and federal environmental agencies. Mr. Weaver has substantial experience performing environmental due diligence for acquisitions, mergers and divestment of businesses, as well as advising real estate purchasers and sellers as to environmental issues relating to property transfers. He has assisted clients in the remediation of contaminated sites through various state voluntary clean-up programs. He has also been involved in rule making proceedings representing the oil and gas industry before the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission in the development and promulgation of standards to control emissions of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds for inclusion in the federally enforceable ozone State Implementation Plan.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Weaver was an associate in the environmental practice group of a large Midwestern law firm. He previously served as a federal law clerk to Chief Judge William C. Lee and Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana and as a state law clerk to Judge Paul Widick in the Seventh Judicial District of Minnesota. Before his time as a law clerk, Mr. Weaver served as in-house counsel for a Colorado environmental consulting firm where he performed environmental compliance and due diligence audits for a number of industries and the federal government. He was also involved in the redevelopment of the former Stapleton International Airport and litigation surrounding the Summitville Mine Superfund Site.

Mr. Weaver draws upon his technical background and consulting experience to deliver both legal and practical solutions to his client’s environmental issues.

Mr. Weaver received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he served as Vice-President and then President, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Society. He was also a law clerk with U.S. EPA Region 8, Legal Division. Mr. Weaver received his M.S. in Environmental Science from Indiana University and his B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from Purdue University.

Mr. Weaver is admitted to practice in Colorado, Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
