Overview
Greg’s family hails from the Ozarks of southern Missouri. During his senior year in high school in 1992, Greg enlisted in the United States Army Infantry under the Delayed Entry Program. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division, serving in New York, Panama, and Somalia.
Immediately upon completing his military service, Greg married his high school crush Kathy. They have been happily married since 1995 and have three children – Michael, Maddie, and Danny.
In 1998, Greg graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. That same year, Greg began service as a trooper with the Indiana State Police. He has worked and assisted in investigating nearly every type of traffic and criminal case. From this experience, Greg gained invaluable insights into personally serving persons in stressful, sad, and emotionally wrought situations.
While serving with the Indiana State Police, Greg worked his way through Valparaiso University School of Law. He graduated summa cum laude from Valparaiso in 2004. Upon graduation, Greg spent a year at the law firm of Mulliken Weiner Karsh Berg & Jolivet in Colorado Springs, Colorado with a focus on civil litigation.
During the next sixteen years, Greg served the communities of Albany County, Wyoming and Larimer County, Colorado as a deputy district attorney. During that time, Greg had the opportunity to represent the States of Colorado and Wyoming in a myriad of criminal cases ranging from minor traffic offenses and misdemeanor offenses to First Degree Murder.
Greg’s primary passion as a prosecutor was seeking justice for victims of violent crime and their families. He was privileged to serve under District Attorney Clifford Riedel (ret.) as the County Court Division Trial Chief. In this role, Greg had the opportunity to train, mentor, and lead the County Court Trial Division which prosecuted nearly 16,000 traffic and misdemeanor cases each year.
In 2020, Greg accepted an appointment by Sheriff Justin Smith (ret.) to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. In that role, Greg served as a legal advisor and trainer to members of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and the Larimer County Park Service Rangers.
Greg strongly believes, as written in the United State’s Declaration of Independence, that by the Laws of Nature and of God that all are created equal with certain unalienable rights. As a trooper, district attorney, and deputy legal advisor, he firmly believed that it was his responsibility, acting on behalf of the government, to respect, uphold, and defend the rights of every person as set forth in the Constitutions of the United States, Colorado, and Wyoming.
In 2023, Greg joined his longtime colleagues and friends at Reilly, Vandenberg & Biggers. Greg’s goal is to provide personalized legal services to good people in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming with a commitment to hard work, integrity, tenacity, and common sense. Greg believes that every client that he works with has intrinsic value and unique skills. His mission is to serve his clients and their families by partnering one-on-one with his clients to provide exceptional legal services so that they can spend their time focusing on their daily commitments that are important, valuable, and enjoyable to them.
During his off time, Greg enjoys spending time with his family and friends. You might find him wandering the Poudre and Big Thompson canyons in search of a trout to fool.
