Dean Baker received both his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, and his J.D. degree from Duke University, and has concentrated his practice in bank financing and creditors'/debtors' rights. He represents clients of the firm who need to understand and respond to creditor/debtor issues from litigation and transactional standpoint and who need assistance in dealing with the complex maze of laws attendant to commercial proceedings, including workouts, bankruptcy and receiverships. His practice additionally emphasizes both commercial finance (including secured and unsecured financing of individuals and corporate entities) and commercial litigation. The financing part of his business focuses on acquisition and construction financing (including syndications) of mega-yachts for lenders in transactions involving construction in the United States, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, New Zealand and Italy and permanent financing and registration of vessels in the United States, The Cayman Islands, The Republic of The Marshall Islands, Isle of Man, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Bermuda, Antigua, Jamaica and the British Virgin Islands etc. Member: American Bar Association; Connecticut Bar Association, Chairman of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Connecticut Bar Association 1995-1996; Executive member of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
