Themis Klarides - Orange, CT

Overview

Attorney Themis Klarides is a partner at Klarides and Kaplan where she focuses her practice on mediation, bankruptcy, business law, real estate and family law. Attorney Klarides is admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Connecticut Bar Association and the New Haven County Bar Association.

A State Representative, Attorney Klarides is currently serving her sixth term in the General Assembly representing the 114th Assembly District, the towns of Woodbridge, Orange and Derby. She was appointed Deputy Republican Leader for the 2007-09 term, and was reappointed to the post for the 2009-11 term. She served as Assistant Minority Leader during her previous two terms. She also serves on the legislature’s Finance, Education, Judiciary and Public Health and Internship Committees. She formerly served as Ranking Member on the Insurance and Real Estate Committee.

In addition to her service to the state, Attorney Klarides volunteers her time with numerous community organizations including The Umbrella Domestic Violence Group, which works to assist victims of domestic violence and provides volunteer legal assistance to women and children at the shelter, the Advisory Board of Fairfield County Safe Kids and the Derby School Special Friends Program, a mentoring program for local elementary school students and Brothers/Big Sisters. In 2006, Attorney Klarides was appointed to the Board of Directors of Griffin Health Services and is a member of the Residency Advisory Committee of Griffin Hospital in Derby.

Attorney Klarides is a graduate of Trinity College and received her juris doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
