Attorney Information
Overview
Allan brings to his practice a consummate appreciation of the variety of clients he works with and the variety of challenges that he and his clients face together. His background in commercial litigation gives him an unusually sophisticated understanding of the financial and business issues unique to each client as they relate to income, business evaluation, taxes, retirement plans, real estate and other financial issues.
Allan also has extensive trial experience in complex equitable distribution cases and has tried to conclusion some of the largest equitable distribution cases in New York.
As a father and long-time family-law practitioner, Allan strives to preserve the best interests of children and maintain their relationships with their parents in the context of a separation or a divorce.
Allan sees his job as safeguarding his clients' interests and obtaining their goals. Often, this requires helping the client distinguish the essential issues from issues of fleeting importance. By identifying solid goals and creating a strategy to achieve them, Allan helps clients start their lives anew.
Allan is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has written and lectured on numerous family law topics.
Allan and his wife Carol reside in Chappaqua with their two children.
