Hired Attorney 2021I am a well trained board certified physician and unfortunately a close elderly family member was the victim of obvious medical malpractice. I thought finding an attorney would be easy given how obvious the error was. I was highly disappointed to find that even attorneys who agreed with the wrongdoing were not interested in taking the case because of "limited damages" because of age. Or others wanted me to pay expenses upfront. It became clear to me that a lot of attorneys are in the field not to seek justice but to primarily make money and that was so very disheartening.. Others did not understand the medical issues and found the case to be too complicated at first glance. I then came across Michael Wilson M.D. J.D. I found his background (MIT, MD, JD) to be impressive. When I first spoke to him given my previous experiences I was expecting someone who would be curt but on the contrary, Michael spent more time and interest listening to me than all of the previous attorneys combined. Talking about harm to loved ones is painful and difficult. Michael was sympathetic, empathetic, patient, supportive, and truly interested in helping. He gave me his personal cell phone number, was most responsive and even called me on a holiday to follow up! He has a true interest in seeking justice and is clearly a super intelligent, well trained physician attorney whose heart, motivation and sense of ethics/morals are in the right place. I am so thankful that I was able to connect with him. I recommend him most highly!! Dr. Wilson cares about his clients and tries to make their wishes for full and complete justice happen. I award five stars to Dr. Michael Wilson and recommend him if you need a medical malpractice lawyer.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
