Verified ClientHired Law firm 2019-2020Best attorney ever!! My son was charged with a serious crime, one that could possibly land him in prison for a few years, but because I had an attorney who is quite knowledgeable and aggressive, the charges were lessened, no felony, adjudication withheld and no prison time. His staff was friendly and professional. He made me feel at peace when I was in one of the most stressful periods of my life. Their professionalism is really top notch. Mr. Wetter explained everything in terms i could understand. He was very relaxed and upfront about the process, gave us options when we thought we had none, and just made the whole experience as non terrifying as possible. We never felt judged or uncomfortable, he made us feel that he really wanted to help us. Although I hope I never need him again, but if I did, he would definitely be the one that I call. I can't thank him enough. You need an attorney who can and will get the best possible outcome? I can't stress this enough... its better with Wetter.

Hired Law firm 2025-2026If you’re considering hiring a defense attorney, hire Mr. Wetter — he is truly the best decision you can make. I initially retained another attorney with great online reviews, but my experience was disappointing. The “best case scenario” I was given would have had serious consequences for my career in healthcare. It also felt very different from what was promised during the hiring process. I left feeling like my case was just another file, without much compassion or understanding of how deeply a conviction would impact my future. After doing more research, Mr. Wetter was recommended to me by both a police officer and a trusted colleague. I am beyond fortunate that I made the switch. From our first conversation, it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. His background as a former prosecutor, combined with his experience as a seasoned defense attorney, gives him an exceptional understanding of the legal system from both sides. He approached my case with confidence, strategy, and more important than anything else, you can tell he genuinely cares. My case was not easy, but he went above and beyond — and ultimately was able to get it dismissed, saving me from having a conviction on my record and protecting my professional future. My only regret is not hiring him from the start. Thank you, Mr. Wetter. Your dedication, expertise, and compassion made a life-changing difference for me. I am more grateful than words can express. Thank you so much, truly.

Hired Law firm 2018-2019I used this attorney in good faith that he would do everything possible to help my under age son with his first offense. He reiterated he was an expert on getting the courts to agree to the youthful offender program. We waited months without any follow through or news, the only response was, "we haven't received the states offer." Almost a year later, we get one offer and he tells the state " he will sell it". And "sell it" he did. The easy way out, without a fight. He didn't depose the victims or police officers. He piggy backed out of another attorney who represented the kid who committed the exact same crime with my son and who was also the driver. That attorney was always so well prepared and helped get the other offender for the exact same crime 6 months VERSUS my son who was committed to 6 years. And he wasn't even the driver. How can there be such disparity in conviction and results? When we received the states offer, he said that was our BEST option, he never said an open plea would be worth it, he deterred us from it. He said "if my son gets more than 20 years, per an email he sent, then we will ask for it". And so I listened. To the wrong person. Who was simply too busy to care to push his hardest for this case. My son was a victim of your lack of apathy and commitment. What is worse, he is too proud to admit it, and truth COULD have set my son free. I will NEVER forget what you did and how you made us feel.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
