Overview
David Dickey was admitted to The Florida Bar and the U. S. District Court, Middle District of Florida in 1992. David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science from the University of Florida in 1981 and his Juris Doctor Degree, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1992. Law school recognitions included Legal Research and Writing - Best Paper Award; the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Natural Resources; the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Conflicts of Law; and being on the Dean's List - five out of six semesters.
David is a veteran U.S. Naval Officer having served on active duty from 1981 to 1989 with Fighter Squadron Two (VF-2) as an F-14 RIO, graduated from the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) in 1986, and was assigned to a special projects position with the Navy Operational Intelligence Center. He received the Navy Achievement Medal for professional achievement in 1984 and the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service from 1987 to 1989. Following active duty, David continued in the active Naval Reserves with assignment to a Defense Intelligence Agency support unit with U.S. Central Command, MacDill AFB, Florida until 1994. He remained in inactive reserves until being honorable discharged in 2001.
David practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury, and professional negligence. He is a member of the Hillsborough Count Bar Association, Trial Lawyers Section, American Bar Association, and Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers.
