Firm Information

Overview

Our law office was founded by attorney Carlos L. Corless, a native of Venezuela and longtime Atlanta-area resident. Since 1992, he has guided clients to positive outcomes in workers' compensation and personal injury cases. He is bilingual and intimately familiar with the needs of the Latino communities in Georgia and the Southeast United States.

The Law Office of Carlos L. Corless — A History of Success

We bring steadfast and bold representation to jury trials, bench trials and other legal proceedings. Our willingness to take the necessary steps to overcome all challenges and get results has allowed us to obtain more than $20 million in verdicts and settlements in personal injury and workers' compensation cases. While less easy to quantify, we have established an impressive record of guiding clients to outcomes they are happy with, outcomes that take into account both short-term and long-term needs.

A Welcoming and Family-Friendly Environment

We understand that our clients are going through some of the most stressful situations they have ever encountered. Their lives are shaken by serious injuries or the loss of a loved one, or their family structures are being redefined because of a divorce. When you come to us, you will find that we are understanding and welcoming. We will make it clear that we are here to help you through your stressful situation as soon as possible.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
