Macon Criminal defense Law Firm

Overview

I am Keith Fitzgerald, and I represent clients with matters involving criminal defense through my firm Fitzgerald Law, located in Macon, Georgia. I have immense experience helping clients with criminal law issues including drug crimes, aggravated assault, crimes against persons, shoplifting, simple battery, DUI and vehicular homicide, and sex crimes and exploitation.

The moment a person is arrested and charged with a crime is the most terrifying of their lives and can have far-reaching consequences, such as the loss of freedom due to time spent in jail or prison, the tarnishing of your reputation, the possibility of a lengthy probationary period and the disruption of your family life.

When facing criminal charges, it's important to have someone on your side who cares about you and is prepared to defend you. I have experience representing clients in all levels of the criminal court system, from traffic fines to murder trials. I will defend you vigorously whether you're facing charges of narcotics conspiracy in federal or state court, murder, aggravated assault, child porn (child exploitation), robbery, burglary, white collar crime or driving under the influence.

Skilled and qualified, I have been successful in many jury trials before local, state and federal courts. I have been selected for inclusion in Georgia’s Super Lawyers list in the area of criminal defense and have earned widespread acclaim for the legal services I provide.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
