Alton Complex Litigation Lawyer

Overview

Attorney Rick Kroeger is an associate at Simmons Hanly Conroy, where he focuses his practice in the Complex Litigation Group. Prior to joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, Rick spent a decade as a trial lawyer representing individuals in St. Louis Circuit Courts.

While working with clients, Rick informs them of all aspects of their case and wants them to have a voice in how their case progresses.

"For more than a decade, I have prided myself on being my clients' voice. My new clients can expect the same treatment," Rick said. "This can mean several in-person meetings to ensure they are comfortable with the next steps in their case. Regardless, they will know that I am here for them, and my goal is to ensure they feel satisfied at the end of my representation."

Rick is admitted to practice law in Missouri. He has trial experience through his work in the Missouri State Public Defender's office in St. Louis. For five years, Rick served as one of two managing attorneys in the St. Louis City Trial Office of the Missouri State Public Defender where he was responsible for training and mentoring new attorneys in addition to his legal duties. Before this position, he was one of 28 Assistant Public Defenders in the St. Louis Trial Office where he handled serious felonies from indictment to trial.

Rick received his law degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2007. While in law school, he became the only law student to ever argue before the Missouri Supreme Court while attending school - an accomplishment that, to his knowledge, has not been repeated since.

He also received his master's degree in literature and bachelor's degrees in English and philosophy from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Rick's publication credits include, "Be Your Client's Voice" in The St. Louis Bar Journal, Vol. 60, No. 4, Spring 2014. He has also taught CLEs for the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri State Public Defender.

Before becoming an attorney, Rick taught high school, where he decided the best way he could help others was to become an attorney. He was raised to believe helping people was the most important work he could do.

"I have learned how to fight for the underdog in my past work experience," Rick said. "I can provide a creativity borne out of finding solutions for clients who were faced with very limited options."
