Overview
DUI • Theft • Drugs • Assault • Misdemeanors • Felonies
From the moment you step into our office we are ready to fight for you. Every client and every case receives our respect. We aggressively fight for every person who feels like their backs are against the wall, provide options and obtain results, because we understand that is what we would want if we needed help.
At the law offices of Steven R. Roach, we understand that people facing criminal charges are going through a traumatic experience. Although no attorney can guarantee a specific result in a given case, we can and do promise to use all of our experience, knowledge and skills to protect you in this time of need.
From the earliest stages of your case, we work hard to protect your rights and secure your future. We carefully listen and analyze your side of the case, making sure there is a clear understanding of the facts. We demand from the prosecution all evidence in their possession and control. We review police reports, examine search warrants, draft and argue necessary motions to protect your constitutional rights, seek the suppression of illegally obtained evidence, make pre-trial motions to dismiss excessive or unfounded charges and leave no stone uncovered in our mission to protect your life, liberty and future.
After our investigation is done, we can negotiate with the prosecution from a position of reason and strength. Using the experience gained from thousands of criminal law cases, we can pursue a wide range of measures to seek the best possible result in your case.
Throughout the course of our investigation, we meticulously prepare for the possibility of trial using resources like outside investigators and expert witnesses when necessary. We make pre-trial motions when appropriate to dismiss charges for lack of probable cause. If negotiations and pre-trial motions do not achieve the results we want, we are thoroughly prepared to advocate aggressively on your behalf at trial.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
