Firm Information
Overview
We are Shilts & Setlak, LLC, a boutique family law firm based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with an additional office in Columbia City, Indiana. Since our founding in 2005, we have devoted ourselves exclusively to assisting families through delicate and complex transitions. Recognizing that divorce, custody disputes and support matters touch the heart of every family, we prioritize collaborative negotiation and mediation whenever possible, resolving issues affordably, efficiently and with minimal emotional upheaval.
Our firm was established when attorney Perry D. Shilts left a large practice to build a team singularly focused on family law. In 2011, attorney Mike A. Setlak joined us, becoming a partner in 2015 and helping shape the firm’s corporate structure the following year. Together, our attorneys contribute decades of combined experience. We quickly identify high-conflict issues, counsel clients on realistic outcomes and craft settlement agreements that honor both parents’ interests while protecting children’s well-being.
Although we eschew needless litigation, we stand ready to advocate zealously in court when negotiations reach an impasse. Our courtroom preparation is meticulous, ensuring you benefit from both our negotiation acumen and our courtroom tenacity. Serving Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Adams, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley counties, we tailor our services to the unique needs of each community.
We offer flexible scheduling, including virtual appointments, to accommodate busy families. We also maintain a strict nondiscrimination policy: no matter your race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability, you will receive respect, compassion and skilled representation. We understand that decisions made today shape your family’s future. That is why we invest in clear communication, sound legal strategies and a supportive environment.
When you choose our Fort Wayne office, you partner with a team that views your family’s stability as paramount. Contact Shilts & Setlak, LLC, for a confidential consultation, and let us help you navigate the path forward with confidence and care.
