$17.25 Million paid to Cancer Victims for underpaid supplemental insurance policies
The Devall Law Firm represented claimants from around the country and successfully recovered over $17 Million in reimbursements for the underpayment of benefits owed under cancer insurance policies.
$250,000 in future wages and over $500,000 in ongoing medical treatment for an injured worker
After an individual was seriously injured in a fall from a raised platform at work, Devall Law successfully represented the worker and protected the worker's family. As of today the injured worker, and his family, have received over $250,000 in past and future wages as a result of Mr. Devall's efforts. The worker's employer continues to pay related medical expenses, which are expected will be in the millions of dollars for his long term care.
Over $6 Million in Injunctive Relief
In addition to the over $17 million reimbursed to the cancer victims discussed above, Mr. Devall was successful in having the insured's future premium increases reduced. This resulted in injunctive relief of more than $6 million in estimated savings to the current policy holders.
$200,000 paid as a result of insurance company's bad faith handling of claim
Mr. Devall successfully represented a client whose deceased wife was underpaid by her insurance company for benefits she was owed under the policy. The client received monies for the underpayment of the bills, along with penalties, attorney fees, and court costs as a result of the insurer's bad faith handling of the claim.
Reimbursement of outstanding wages, along with penalties and attorney fees
Mr. Devall represented an employee who was not paid all the wages and overtime owed to her by her employer. The Law Firm was able to collect all of the unpaid wages, along with full recovery of penalties, attorney fees, and court costs as a result of the employer having been unreasonable in not paying the wages owed.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
