Attorney Information
Overview
Anthony (Tony) Balsamo, Esq. is an attorney with the Pinder Plotkin, where he serves as Partner leading the firm’s litigation practice. Tony represents Maryland clients in personal injury, auto accident, truck accident, dog bite, and workers’ compensation matters. His background combines courtroom litigation experience with something few personal injury attorneys bring to the table: he has sat on both sides of the bench.
Before joining Pinder Plotkin in October 2021, Tony served as a Commissioner with the District Court of Maryland, a judicial officer responsible for initial appearances, bail and bond determinations, warrants, and peace and protective orders. That inside knowledge of how Maryland’s trial-level courts actually operate shapes how he builds and tries cases today, and it gives Pinder Plotkin clients a representative who understands the litigation environment from both the advocate’s and the judicial officer’s perspectives.
Tony earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012 and has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 2012. During law school, he clerked for the Honorable Angela Eaves and Judge Stephen Waldron of the Harford County Circuit Court and interned with the Maryland State Ethics Commission. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wagner College in 2009, where he received the President’s Award.
Tony’s path to law reflects the Pinder Plotkin’s commitment to representing hardworking Marylanders. Before law school, he worked as a construction laborer and as a network administrator in information technology, backgrounds that inform how he listens to and advocates for clients who have been injured at job sites, on the road, and in other workplace settings. In 2019, he was named to the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association. He was named Partner at Pinder Plotkin in 2023.
Outside the firm, Tony is a former competitive paintball player in the National X-Ball League and currently coaches divisional teams for the Baltimore Revo professional paintball organization.
