Attorney Information
Overview
Joshua Fannon, Esq. is an attorney with Pinder Plotkin, handling auto accident, truck accident, dog bite, and workers’ compensation matters for clients throughout Maryland. Few personal injury attorneys in the state bring a professional background as directly relevant to the work. In addition to his legal practice, Josh has spent more than twenty-five years as a Baltimore first responder — today serving as a Battalion Chief with the Baltimore City Fire Department and as the elected President of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 964, the union representing Baltimore’s fire officers.
That combination — courtroom advocate plus commanding officer at fire and crash scenes — shapes how he serves the firm’s clients every day. In auto accident and truck accident cases, he can analyze crash scene photos, incident reports, and first-responder documentation the way they were written: by someone who has commanded the response. That first-hand understanding of vehicle dynamics, impact forces, and extrication helps the firm build stronger liability and damages presentations. In workers’ compensation claims — especially those involving firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, police officers, and other first responders — Josh brings an insider’s grasp of occupational injury, presumption statutes, and the cancer and cardiovascular claims that Maryland law specifically protects. In dog bite cases, his advanced medical training as a Maryland-certified Cardiac Rescue Technician informs how the firm documents soft-tissue trauma, scarring, and infection risk.
Josh earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2013 and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2014. He later added a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore in 2016 — all while serving full-time with the Baltimore City Fire Department. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from the University of Maryland and an Associate of Arts in Political Science from Harford Community College.
Beyond his legal and fire service work, Josh serves as the elected Active Fire Trustee on the Baltimore City Fire & Police Employees Retirement System and has been appointed to labor advisory councils by Maryland’s Governor, Comptroller, and Attorney General.
