A senior counsel in Joseph Greenwald & Laake's Civil Litigation Group, Joe represents clients in employment disputes and commercial litigation matters. From the initial client meeting all the way through trial, Joe is focused on providing his clients with the thorough and detailed analysis they need to achieve the best possible results in their cases.
Joe represents individuals in a wide variety of employment-related matters, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, retaliation and professional discipline cases. Joe's employment law practice is particularly focused on representing federal employees. On the business services side, Joe's practice encompasses contract disputes, insurance coverage and business litigation.
Joe has extensive courtroom experience. He has tried cases in state and federal court and has argued appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Maryland Court of Appeals and Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
Among his recent victories, Joe successfully defended a doctor from false charges brought before the Board of Medical Examiners, and obtained a verdict in excess of $600,000 in a claim under the Maryland employment discrimination law. He is the author of "Employment Rights of Federal Employees," a chapter in the Maryland Employment Law Deskbook.
