Overview

Dino M. Colucci is the founding partner and lead trial counsel of Colucci, Colucci & Marcus, P.C. He is a graduate of Tufts University (1984) and Suffolk University Law School (1988), where he was recognized for excellence in the area of trial practice.

Since his admission to the Massachusetts bar in 1988, Dino has concentrated his practice in the area of personal injury litigation. During the course of his long professional career, he has been entrusted to prosecute claims on behalf of a variety of clients such as victims of:

For over a decade, he has largely undertaken the representation of the elderly and infirm that are among the growing number of helpless victims of nursing home negligence and abuse. Recognized as a singular leader in this emerging field, when the Boston Globe conducted research before printing an important expose on nursing home negligence, they consulted and quoted Attorney Colucci. As regularly reported by the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly newspaper, he has consistently achieved remarkable results for his clients both in the form of negotiated settlements and success at trial. Indeed, a jury verdict that he obtained after a particularly lengthy trial in Norfolk County Superior Court remains one of the decade’s top awards.

Dino also frequently serves as a private mediator and has enjoyed great success in helping parties resolve complex civil disputes. Because of his reputation for achievement in the field of mediation, he was selected and specially appointed by the Superior Court to resolve a contentious case that involved eight parties who had been mired in litigation over the course of 7 years, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The dispute was fully and promptly resolved under Dino’s direction and the case, at long last, was dismissed.

For many years Dino served as the Chair for Suffolk University Law School’s Advanced Legal Studies Committee and has frequently lectured and written on a host of topical legal subjects. He was elected to serve as a member of Suffolk University’s Board of Trustees in 2002 where he chaired the Audit Committee. He was selected to serve an important role on Suffolk University’s Dean Search Committee as well as on the Provost Search Committee. Suffolk University Law School also announced his appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Law where he taught a popular course on trial evidence for many years.

In addition to being a long-standing member of the Massachusetts bar, Dino is also licensed to practice in New Jersey and Rhode Island.

In March of 2013, Mr. Colucci obtained a $1.1 million jury verdict on behalf of a land developer who planned to purchase and develop eight parcels of property. The defendant was hired to provide legal services towards that end, but failed to disclose that the property contained Indian gravesites, which would have restricted development. The defendant was found to be negligent and violated G.L.c. 93A.
