Bloomfield Hills Medical Provider Claims Lawyer

Overview

I entered the legal profession to help and protect people, to help them through their legal problems that arise from injuries and that often-become life problems. We can use the law to advance the public good and for that reason, my practice is primarily focused on injury litigation for both those injured and the medical providers who serve them.

Working at Schefman & Associates, PC, has allowed me to help people navigate the difficult road of injury and rehabilitation and insurance payment. When a person or a loved one is injured, I have seen first-hand that everyone needs legal help; it is impossible to navigate on your own, and I can offer guidance. Whether a person has brain injury or other difficult recovery from a car accident, often your life is changed forever; sometimes it will never be the same. While we can’t turn back the clock on an accident, we can help those affected gain confidence to move forward and obtain the compensation they need and are entitled to. I like making a difference in someone’s life and frequently a family’s new struggle.

I also represent medical providers, some of the finest medical professional in the State of Michigan. I feel a great sense of pride dedicating so much time to serving these talented men and women. Part of our mission is to help doctors succeed professionally and financially, and this also can be of enormous help to my injured clients who need help.

The law also provides me the opportunity to build and maintain client and professional relationships, and I am very proud of the connections I have made with people.

Although I am out of school for many years now, I’m still dedicated to my passion for soccer; I am a youth soccer coach and have been so for over 10 years. The ability to participate in building the character and the will of young girls, to then become strong and successful women, has been very rewarding. I live in Bloomfield Hills with my husband and daughter and two goldendoodles. My passions include my family, reading, biking and, of course, all things “soccer” and the continued success of the US Women’s National Soccer Team.

Allison and Brayan at Schefman and Associates handled my case together. She was very instrumental in getting everything settled involving my case. She was timely in getting back to me and making sure I understood everything completely. She was very easy to talk to and made sue along with the rest of the staff that all medical bills were paid. Outstanding to work with.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
