Overview
David Haron is Of Counsel to Hoyer Law Group, PLLC. David specializes in False Claims Act, Health Care, SEC, and Employment cases in which his wisdom and expertise in these practice areas are tremendous assets for the firm's whistleblower and employment practices.
David also represents medical providers, businesses and individuals in compliance, regulatory, transactions and litigation related matters, and serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association and as a mediator for FINRA.
David comes to Hoyer Law Group from his own Michigan-based practice, Haron Law Group, PLC, where he established himself as a major force in whistleblower litigation in Michigan and throughout the country. David's work on behalf of whistleblowers has helped to return several hundred million dollars to taxpayers in False Claims Act qui tam cases. Those settlements include $119 million in United States ex rel. Jeanne Byrne v. Damon Clinical Laboratories, Inc. and $81 million in United States ex rel. Angela Maher & Anastasia Savka Klovski v Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Among his many clients, David represented the whistleblower in the case against a Detroit doctor who's been labeled "a monster" for falsely telling patients they had cancer, so he could cash in on their chemotherapy treatments. The doctor was convicted and sent to prison, and with David's help, the government recovered $17 million dollars for the fraudulent billing of chemotherapy to Medicare. The case was recently profiled on the CBS program "Whistleblowers."
David has written extensively regarding fraud in the Medicare and Medicaid fields and on the False Claims Act. He has also been very active in the Michigan and Oakland County Bar Associations and is a past chairman of the Professionalism Committees of both of those associations. He is past-President of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and the Michigan Psychoanalytic Foundation and a former board member of JARC and C.A.T.C.H. (Sparky Anderson's Charity for Children). David has received the Professionalism Award from the Oakland County Bar Association and was named a "Leader in the Law" by Lawyer's Weekly Magazine.
David attended the University of Michigan for undergrad and law school and served as an Adjunct Professor of Health Law at the University of Michigan Law School.
David is licensed to practice in Michigan; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan; U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan; and U.S. Tax Court.
