Additionally, John has litigated numerous claims involving the Family Medical Leave Act, Minnesota's whistleblower statute, Minnesota's parenting leave statute, wage and hour violations, trade secrets, contract disputes, fraud, and minority shareholder rights. He has successfully tried employment claims in jury trials for his clients to verdict. He has also aggressively negotiated severance packages for a multitude of clients and serves as a mediator.
Before joining FMA, John served as a Navy Judge Advocate, and as a lawyer in the Office of General Counsel for the Department of Defense where he provided legal advice to the Office of The Inspector General in support of investigations into fraud, waste, and abuse in the programs and operations of the Department. John's unique legal background has proven to be a tremendous asset to his legal practice. This background has enabled John to successfully litigate whistleblower claims brought under the False Claims Act against those who defraud the federal government, yielding multi-million-dollar recoveries.
