Overview

An attorney with nearly 30 years of trial experience, Eric L. Newmark is the founding partner of the Newmark Law Office LLC in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Eric defends clients in all types of criminal charges, including drug crimes, violent crimes, white collar crimes, driving offenses, DUI/DWIs and many other felonies and misdemeanors. Eric represents individuals charged with crimes in both State and Federal court and is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Eric also has represented clients in federal courts in Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, and Wisconsin, as well as state court in South Dakota and Montana.

Certified as a Criminal Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Eric has earned acquittals and dismissals in nearly every type of criminal case from 1st Degree Murder to driving offenses. Eric is often hired by trucking and insurance companies to represent their drivers in vehicular homicide cases and has been retained by other attorneys as an expert witness in the area of criminal law.

A "lawyer's lawyer" and a problem solver, Eric is respected for his professionalism and integrity, and admired for his aggressive, pragmatic and creative approach to representing clients.

In addition to his criminal practice, Eric also represents Judges, attorneys, doctors, nurses, real estate agents and other professionals in investigations before licensing and disciplinary boards.

Eric has presented at national criminal defense seminars on drug interdiction, and locally on jury selection and the interplay between immigration and criminal law, jury selection, and ethics, among other subjects. Eric has appeared on numerous media outlets including MSNBC, KARE, KSTP, FOX9, and has offered analysis for the Star Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and the Baltimore Sun, among other outlets.

Eric was selected as a Rising Star in 1999, just three years after becoming a practicing attorney and has been recognized as a super lawyer for 25 consecutive years.
