Hired Attorney 2019This attorney has a terrible attitude. All Attorney Conway sees are dollar signs. She didn’t help me one bit. She charged me money and I ended up getting another attorney to get me my divorce. She’s cocky and feels that because she is a woman, she needs to prove a pointless point in court. She told me that she had a reputation to withhold. No ma’am! Not with my money! She wanted to draw out the process when it didn’t take all of that. Folks, keep your money! I hired a male attorney who was professional and did exactly what I needed! Whew! He handled the job like a champ. Being that I’m a woman, I chose her because I thought she would’ve been more compassionate towards my situation. Never again! Waste of time and money!

Hired Attorney 2020-2021Loved these two lawyers. I could not have gotten better representation. Explained everything clearly and was available whenever I had a question so I got very quick feedback. My divorce wasn’t near as expensive as my husband’s attorney charged him. They got it done quickly too so I got to put it behind me and start a much better new life. I could tell our judge respected my attorney as well because she was definitely more prepared and professional than husband’s lawyer. You need these lawyers if you find yourself going through a divorce if you want it over quickly but fairly.

Hired Attorney 2020-2021Won custody of my children and got my attorney's fees paid back from my ex. Easy to reach and fought against all of his lies and his attorney's tricks. She was really prepared at court and cared about my family. She has a lot of experience because my relative who told me about her used her in his divorce over 20 years ago and also won custody. She really pays attention to details to avoid future problems. My friend used her for an no fault divorce and it was inexpensive because her husband agreed. Highly recommend!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
