Overview

Jennifer Poynter-Willis grew up in Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada before attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in political science. She then received her law degree from Creighton University School of Law in 2004. Jennifer previously clerked for the Eighth Judicial District Court, Family Division, worked in internal control/compliance in the hotel industry and has practiced law in the areas of complex divorce litigation, family law appeals, personal injury, business litigation and employment law. She currently practices in family law, complex divorce litigation and personal injury law.

Jennifer participates in the Nevada State Bar mentoring program for new admittees, volunteers in the Ask-a-Lawyer program to provide legal assistance to those who cannot afford an attorney, and often works as a Guardian Ad Litem for minor children when appointed by the District Court. Jennifer is also a volunteer board member for an animal rescue and has volunteered in the past teaching free divorce classes to community members who wish to file for divorce and cannot afford an attorney, and supervised William S. Boyd School of Law students in their divorce/family law classes provided to the community.
