I highly recommend Carol H. Gold. She handled my mother’s will and the deed transfer to my brother after her passing, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She took care of everything, kept us informed, and was both professional and compassionate during a difficult time.

I have employed the attorney, Carol Gold. Carol has been so accommodating to my disabled husband who has a difficult time getting around and to myself who has to transport him. She has done our wills, POA’s, etc. She is concise and knows what she is doing. She did not hurry, and advised when I was stuck on a point. She is very well spoken and extremely efficient and knows the law that she deals with. We are very happy with her work.

Carol Gold was my attorney during the initial establishment of my support order 16 years ago. She helped me get what I believe is the best setup I could expect at that time, so when I recently had questions about the rare circumstances related to the termination of that support order, I reached out and, once again, she was able to help me through it. Highly recommended!

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this "firm" ... communication was terrible, availability was infrequent, unclear billing, and I felt like my concerns were ignored. I would never recommend them to anyone, ever.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
