Morristown Labor & Employment- Employee Law Firm
Overview
Getting fired from your job is one of the most traumatic events a person can experience. There are severe economic consequences for you and for your family. And often, there is severe emotional harm.
If you were possibly terminated by your employer because of discrimination or because you sought a medical leave or reasonable accommodation for a disability, or because you reported wrongdoing, you want an experienced, dedicated and skilled trial attorney who will fight for you and handle your case personally.
That attorney is Rich Murray.
Rich Murray is certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and one of only 1,100 or so lawyers of the 72,000 lawyers in the entire state who is certified by the Court as a civil trial lawyer. He was re-certified in 2007, 2012 and for 2017 through 2022. He has been practicing law for more than 35 years.
Rich has handled cases that involve employment contracts, whistleblowing, ethnic and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, hostile work environment claims, whistleblower claims, workers’ compensation retaliation claims and wrongful termination.
Over the years, Rich has secured many significant awards and verdicts on behalf of his clients. These successes include proving that an international insurance corporation discriminated against a high level executive, that an employer retaliated against a disabled employee who had filed for workers’ compensation, showing that a major defense contractor engaged in racial discrimination against a manager, and demonstrating that an international pharmaceutical company discriminated against a pregnant employee. He has also negotiated many favorable severance agreements.
This year, Rich obtained a net verdict in a whistleblower case against Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation in the sum of $1.479 million dollars in the Morris County Superior Court.
During a free telephone consultation, Rich and his staff will gather information about the case and provide you with an understanding of the litigation process. Rich makes it a priority to give his clients personal attention, to listen to his client’s concerns and to keep his clients fully informed about the legal process and the progress of their case in the court system. He personally handles all cases for his clients.
Rich has served for many years as a member of the Executive Board of the National Employment Lawyers Association – New Jersey (NELA-NJ) and is currently Vice-President of NELA-NJ. He also serves as a co-chair of the Association’s Programming Committee that produces seminars for its members. He has been made presentations on employment law and trial practice seminars of NELA-NJ, the New Jersey Association of Justice, and the Morris County Bar Association, sharing his legal knowledge and experience with other attorneys in presentations and seminars. He is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (National), the New Jersey Association of Justice (the Trial Lawyers Assn.), and the Morris County Bar Association, Labor and Employment Committee.
