The law firm of PM Law, P.C., is located in Forest Hills, New York. We help people with legal issues in the areas of business and commerce, family law, commercial real estate, and immigration.
Working with a wide range of national and international businesses and a federal department has enabled us to develop key practice strengths. We have represented the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as closing agent on liquor license applications, and we have served as counsel for some of the most prominent companies in the real estate mortgage and banking industry.
In terms of outcomes, quality and value, we strive to deliver services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Our goal is to remove any legal roadblocks that you may be facing. This foresight has given us depth, experience and variety. We have many devoted clients who have been with us since our founding.
Our founder, attorney Malik Pankaj, established the firm on the belief that clients are best served by a law firm that puts them first, acts swiftly in response to their needs, gives their cases the individual attention they need, and is at the cutting edge of legal innovation. She built the practice on a foundation of helping individuals and businesses of all kinds. She won't stop working until her legal work lives up to her high standards.
Ms. Pankaj has been practicing law for over 25 years and has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of business, construction, corporate, bankruptcy, estate and guardianship, family, and real estate situations. She has extensive experience negotiating and drafting contracts and is also well-versed in banking, taxes, and financial planning. Her proficiency in immigration law is comprehensive, and she has handled cases including investor EB5 visas, consular processing, employment-based immigration, deportation, removal, writs and waivers.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
