David V. Rossi is of counsel in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP, primarily handling patent matters involving electronics and computer related technologies.

Dr. Rossi’s practice emphasizes procuring domestic and foreign patents, and client counseling, including rendering opinions on invalidity, infringement, and enforceability, and advising on infringement avoidance and patent portfolio development. His practice also involves patent litigation, licensing, and intellectual property due diligence in transactional matters.

His matters have involved a wide range of technologies, including optoelectronics, computer architecture, cryptography, e-money, internet business methods, financial instrument trading methods and systems, oil and gas industry technology including turbomachinery and pipeline sensors, LCDs, medical devices and imaging including MRI, RFID, telecommunications including cellular, switched mode power converters, and semiconductor devices and fabrication.

During his graduate studies, he held an IBM Ph.D. Fellowship and his doctoral research concerned semiconductor device physics and fabrication technology, and led to a dissertation entitled “Indium Gallium Arsenide Resistive gate Charge-coupled Devices.” Dr. Rossi has been involved with all types of patent related matters since 1991, when he joined an intellectual property law firm as a scientific advisor.
