Overview
Mitchell Cohen is a founding member of the firm and has devoted his practice to Matrimonial and Family Law since his graduation from law school and admission to the Bar of the State of New York in 1986. Mitch prides himself in being an effective negotiator and a zealous advocate in court.
As a member of the New York State Bar Association, Mitch is a Past Chair of the Family Law Section, and currently serves as the Section's Delegate to the NYSBA House of Delegates, co-chair of the Section's By-Laws Committee and as a member of the Section's Executive Committee. As a member of the Westchester County Bar Association, he is a past Chair of the Family Law Section and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Section.
Mitch is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He is a member of the Rockland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has lectured and written articles for the New York State Bar Association, continuing legal education seminars and on numerous occasions has served as Chair for the Westchester section of the State Bar Association's CLE programs. He has also lectured for the Westchester County Bar Association Family Law Section continuing legal education programs. He was a member of the Family Court Law Guardian Advisory Committees, Appellate Division, Second Department, Ninth Judicial District.
