Aidan joined the firm in 2011 and focuses his practice on trust and estate administration, estate planning, and trust and estate litigation. Aidan’s expertise in the areas of estate tax, gift tax, generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax, and fiduciary (trust and estate) income tax is a foundation of his practice.

Aidan’s colleagues and clients rely on his attention to detail and his passion for learning about the changes in the law and incorporating new estate planning or business succession strategies into his practice.

Aidan is a trusted and knowledgeable resource for individuals and companies acting as a trustee or an executor, and also for beneficiaries of trusts or estates who may be involved in a dispute with the fiduciary or who want to understand their rights and interests. His experience as a personal trustee of trusts makes him uniquely qualified to address these issues in a practical manner, with legal expertise.

Aidan routinely handles complex estate administration, probate proceedings, trust terminations, preparation of accountings, litigation regarding contested accountings, analysis of investment practices and performance, trustee resignation and succession proceedings, as well as reformation of trusts both in judicial and non-judicial settings.

In addition to his trusts & estates practice, Aidan specializes in the law and regulations regarding tax-exempt organizations. Not-For-Profit corporations seek Aidan’s help with many issues, including entity formation, obtaining (and maintaining) tax-exempt status, development of the organization’s governing documents and procedures, and coordination and compliance with the State Attorney General’s Office and with the IRS.

Aidan serves on the Board of Directors of Symphoria, Central New York’s symphony, and Jowonio School. Aidan lives in DeWitt with his wife, Erika, and his children, Nora and Theo.
