Overview
AnneMarie is an attorney in our Fargo office, practicing primarily in general civil litigation. AnneMarie earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Dakota School of Law, graduating summa cum laude. AnneMarie was elected to the Order of the Coif for her academic achievements. During law school, AnneMarie served as the Student Articles Editor for the North Dakota Law Review and was recognized for her scholarly contributions with multiple published works in the journal. Her Note, “Can You Clarify? Why the North Dakota Legislature Should Amend the Uniform Nonparent Custody and Visitation Act,” received the Outstanding Note Award from the State Bar Association of North Dakota. AnneMarie also served as president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. AnneMarie won numerous trial advocacy awards during law school including Champion Team and Best Oralist awards for two consecutive years. Due to her achievements, AnneMarie was elected to the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization recognizing graduating law students who demonstrate superior oral advocacy and brief writing skills. AnneMarie worked as a licensed student attorney in the Family Law Clinical Practicum where she managed client files, represented clients in court and mediation, and helped to provide hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services. Additionally, AnneMarie gained valuable insights into civil and criminal proceedings during her judicial externship for Chief Judge Peter D. Welte for the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Prior to law school, AnneMarie attended the University of Northwestern-St. Paul where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice, graduating summa cum laude. AnneMarie then worked as a lay guardian ad litem with Youthworks of North Dakota, where she conducted in-depth investigations and provided witness testimony on behalf of minor children, demonstrating her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable populations.
