Overview
Helping Injured Workers Secure Compensation
One must be well versed in their field to successfully represent injured workers and help them secure compensation from large, powerful corporations. Katie Lietzke fits that description perfectly. She provides exemplary service for her clients by excelling in all areas of workers’ comp law, including workplace injuries, occupational diseases, safety code violations, permanent and total disability claims, loss of use awards, and death claims.
A Life of Service to Injured Workers and Their Families
Katie joined NRS Injury Law in 2013, building on a legal career that began in 1996. When she accepted a position as Associate Attorney at the firm, Katie began a chapter in her legal career that would see her represent hundreds of injured Ohio workers. Katie has argued cases at all levels of the Industrial Commission, including the full Industrial Commission in Columbus.
Katie has worked closely with her fellow attorneys, paralegals, and case managers at NRS Injury Law to successfully argue workers’ compensation mandamus actions and workers’ compensation cases at the Ohio Supreme Court.
Leveraging Comprehensive Knowledge and Decades of Experience in Workers’ Compensation Law
When asked what inspires her in her career as a workers’ compensation attorney, Katie spoke of her work representing Ohio firefighters. “There was a time when firefighters could rarely secure workers’ compensation for cancer illnesses they sustained as a result of their work,” says Katie. “One of my greatest victories has been successfully arguing for the allowance of cancer in workers’ comp claims.”
Don't Wait to Seek Legal Help from Katie Lietzke
While following in her father’s footsteps as a career attorney and while also being the mother of three children, Katie is passionate about her family’s intergenerational commitment to working people. She is hardworking, diligent, thorough, and committed to securing client results.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
