Overview
George S. Crisci joined Zashin & Rich Co., L.P.A. in March 2007. George has practiced employment and labor law in both the public and private sectors for more than 23 years. George is an OSBA Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law. Law and Politics and Cincinnati magazines named George an "Ohio Super Lawyer" in Labor and Employment law in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
George’s practice has encompassed a wide variety of subjects, including discrimination, retaliation and workplace harassment, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining, arbitration, wrongful discharge, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. He has extensive experience at all levels of federal and state court, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Ohio State Employment Relations Board, and the National Labor Relations Board. He also has participated in more than one hundred arbitration hearings and negotiated numerous labor contracts in both the private and public sectors. In addition to an extensive private practice, George worked as in-house labor counsel for the Cleveland Public Schools.
George received his BA from the College of Wooster, where he graduated with Departmental Honors and Phi Beta Kappa, and his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a member of the Case Western Reserve Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif.
George is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the Eastern District of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
George has lectured frequently on many topics, including public sector labor and employment law, employment discrimination, workplace harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, collective bargaining, avoiding unfair labor practices, and proper evaluation, discipline and termination procedures.
George is a member of the American Bar Association’s Litigation, State and Local Government, and Labor and Employment Sections. Within the Labor and Employment Section, he is a member of the Committee on State and Local Government Collective Bargaining, where he serves as a sub-committee co-chair. Mr. Crisci also is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Cleveland Bar Association.
