Overview
Co-Managing Ohio’s Largest Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Law Firm
Jerald (Jerry) Schneiberg is Co-Managing Partner at NRS Injury Law, heading the workers’ compensation litigation groups. Alongside Dan Romaine, who heads the firm’s personal injury and auto accident departments, Jerry directs Ohio’s largest workers’ compensation and injury law firm in its daily activities, including serving clients in every county across Ohio from the firm’s offices in Euclid, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton, and Cincinnati.
Finding a Path to Law in the Service of Others
From a young age, Jerry felt a call to serve others. His first job was at a family restaurant, the “Old Barn Out Back” in Lima, Ohio. Once in college, Jerry spent his summers working for Nickles Bakery, a union shop providing baked goods to restaurants. Jerry pursued accounting in college and took a job at National City Bank after graduating from Ohio University in 1988, but he soon realized the banking industry wasn’t for him.
“There I was, sitting in a glass-walled office in a high rise that many would dream of working in, yet I knew I was in the wrong career,” Jerry said, reflecting on what he refers to as his “silly, fresh-out-of-college years.” After careful consideration, Jerry left the banking industry and enrolled at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
A Life’s Dedication to Helping Injured Ohioans
Following an externship during law school that saw Jerry shadow renowned federal court judge, John Michael Manos, Jerry passed the bar in 1993 after winning the prestigious Lawyers’ Co-op Award for Outstanding Achievement in Administrative Law. Jerry spent the next few years working for personal injury and workers’ compensation firms, including Yulish, Twohig & Associates; Peltz & Birne; Davis & Associates; and Crosby O’Brien & Associates.
“I went to law school because I wanted to help people, so I was naturally drawn to the plaintiff’s side of injury law right away, but most of the jobs I was offered in the 90s were on the defense side,” Jerry said. “Those early years gave me an in-depth knowledge of how companies try to defend themselves against personal injury and workers’ comp claims, a knowledge I began putting to use as soon as I joined NRS Injury Law.”
Leading a Workers’ Compensation Law Firm that Does Things Differently
When asked about the driving principles behind NRS Injury Law and what makes the firm different, Jerry reached for a laminated copy of the firm’s Vision Statement and began to read aloud. “We put a lot of thought into this,” he began with a smile. “NRS Injury Law is the largest workers’ compensation law firm in Ohio. Our elite team zealously advocates for justice for every client by practicing the art of constant compassion, striving for excellence, and acting with integrity, patience, and professionalism.”
Jerry elaborated, describing the firm as being about the client and their journey. The firm is constructed entirely around the client, from their initial consultation to their case’s final result. Workers’ compensation cases are complicated and nuanced, requiring multiple steps, so Jerry designed the firm’s approach to accommodate. As Ohio’s largest workers’ comp firm, NRS Injury Law has the resources, support structure, assistants, medical experts, research potential, evidence-gathering help, and colleague advice the firm’s attorneys need to build winning cases.
“It’s also about the foundation,” Jerry added. “We built a law firm that’s unlike any other, because we built it on a unique foundation. The foundation is our great attorneys and the structures they operate in. Each attorney is supported by their own case manager, paralegal, and legal assistant. The associate attorneys themselves are organized into ‘pods’ with a partner attorney mentoring the associate attorneys in each pod. The result is a streamlined, perfected, and proprietary system that optimizes results for our clients.”
Work/Life Balance
When Jerry isn’t co-managing NRS Injury Law or volunteering in the Cleveland community, he enjoys skiing during winter and golfing during summer. Year-round hobbies include traveling and spending time with his beloved wife, Kim, and their four adult children. Jerry is also a former marathon runner, having completed races in Columbus, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Philadelphia. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Jerry can often be found scanning travel blogs, searching for the next big family adventure.
Don't Wait to Seek Legal Help from Jerry Schneiberg
Thoughtful, determined, an empathetic listener during one-on-one client counsel, and a ruthless advocate in court, Jerry epitomizes the traits written into the firm’s mission statement. “We are zealous in our client advocacy,” reads the mission statement on Jerry’s wall. “Our elite team cares deeply, providing empathetic and patient service to every person who calls our firm. We relentlessly pursue the best possible outcome on behalf of every client by putting our collective experience, knowledge, and passion to work each and every day.” Drawing on decades of dedication to Ohio workers and utilizing a collaborative, results-driven, and empathy-first model, Jerry has won thousands of cases for injured workers. Jerry is also involved with the firm’s volunteer efforts at the Cleveland Food Bank.
Outside the firm, Jerry serves as President of the Board of Directors of Open Doors Academy, a year-round out-of-school program for children designed to protect, inspire, nurture, and challenge youth to reach their full potential. Always open to opportunities to encourage new generations of workers’ compensation plaintiff attorneys, Jerry has served as keynote speaker at events hosted by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio Association for Justice, National Business Institute, AFL-CIO Workers' Compensation Institute, Ohio State Bar Association, and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
