Overview
Maury White, JD, is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Family Relations Law. Maury earned his degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1975, and his law degree at the University of Cincinnati in 1978. Maury's practice is limited to Mediation and Collaborative Law. Maury's professional leadership roles have included chairmanship of the Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals 2006-2008; and chair of the Ohio Supreme Court's Sub-committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution: Collaborative Law. Maury has presented on Collaborative Family Law at the Ohio State Bar Association, and has been published in Thomson Reuters' Inside the Minds series, "Understanding Collaborative Family Law"; the World of Collaborative Practice magazine; and, the Ohio Association of Civil Trail Attorneys' Quarterly Review, Volume 5, summer 2012. With fellow Ohio IACP members Elaine Buck, Esq. (Columbus, Ohio) and Brian Urban, Esq. (Cleveland, Ohio) Maury was instrumental in attaining passage of the Ohio Collaborative Family Law Act, Ohio Revised Code Sections 3105.41 to 3105.54, eff. March 22, 2013. He is listed in Martindale Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers with their highest AV-rating in legal ability and ethical standards, as well as Best Lawyers in America for Collaborative Law.

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
