Steve has been an attorney for more than 30 years. He established his own law office in 1999 to advocate for injured people and their families. Prior to that, he practiced law at Kottkamp & O'Rourke, LLP, beginning in 1994. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Oregon.
He is a member of the American Association for Justice, a member and former board member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Oregon State Bar and 6th Judicial Bar District Association. Steve is recognized as one of the top personal injury lawyers in the state by Oregon Super Lawyers, which evaluates attorneys on peer recognition and professional achievement.
Outside the office, Steve spends time with his family and loves reading, traveling, skiing, following his beloved Minnesota Vikings and volunteering. Steve is a member of Rotary International, which is focused on worldwide service efforts such as the eradication of polio. He is a past president of the Pendleton Rotary Club, and he organized a trip that allowed 20 Rotarians to travel to China and meet with the Beijing and Shanghai Rotary clubs.
Steve earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in English from Oberlin College. He was born in Chicago, raised in Minneapolis and is raising two children with his wife Jane.
