Overview
Jonathan Zakheim is a partner in the firm's Commercial Litigation Department, where he represents corporations and individuals in all aspects of business litigation.
Jonathan concentrates on cases involving breach of contract, business torts, and real estate disputes. He has also represented clients in a range of insurance coverage matters, involving commercial general liability, directors and officers, errors and omissions, property and business interruption, and professional liability policies; in trust and probate litigation, including will and trust contests and breach of fiduciary duty claims; and in connection with legal ethics, legal malpractice, and professional responsibility issues.
Jonathan earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his undergraduate degree from George Washington University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Prior to attending law school, Jonathan helped his grandfather write a book that was favorably reviewed by Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens: http://www.nybooks.com/articles/2012/04/05/struggle-police-law/.
Before joining Astor Weiss, Jonathan served as an associate in a nationally recognized litigation practice and founded a boutique firm.
Jonathan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, District of New Jersey, and Southern District of New York.
Jonathan was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® Rising Star for 2020, 2021, and 2022, and was previously selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyers® Rising Star for 2014, 2015, 2015, 2016, and 2017. His commitment to pro bono work was recognized with an award from Legal Services NYC in 2011 for representation of a pro bono client seeking disability and workers compensation benefits.
Jonathan lives in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.
