Hired Attorney 2017-2020Richard Mallen represented me in two legal matters. I was a victim of hit and run on a busy roadway. My life changed dramatically within seconds due to my horrific and multiple injuries. Physically and mentally, I will never be the same. Richard helped me with the mounds of paperwork from my employer, health providers and insurance companies and made sure that I was able to provide for my family in my new situation. He has great bed side manner and always had the right words to calm me during such a difficult time. When he said he had it all under control, he meant it. Stacy, his legal assistant, was also always available to me to make sure all my questions were answered. Both of them made sure that my cases were always in order concerning my auto suit and my workers’ compensation case. I am grateful to them both for their kindness and expert legal representation.

Hired Attorney 2017-2021I had the unfortunate circumstance of getting hurt while working. I needed help so a friend of mine recommended Attorney Richard Mallen and FORTUNATELY for me Mr. Mallen took my case! Mr. Mallen explained everything to the letter of the law on how things were going to go for approximately the next few years. He was absolutely honest in every conversation I ever had with him! He was completely understanding of my legal and medical problems and was very competent in representing me. Mr. Mallen is by far the VERY BEST at what he does and I was very FORTUNATE to have him working for me! If you want the BEST look no further!

Hired Attorney 2018-2020This man so called a lawyer takes care for his business and a client it is only unavoidable obstacle. No consultation, a lot of yelling, and no effects. Very high attorney fee, total 22% of my settlement. I regret hiring him.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
