Consulted Attorney 2024-2025The lack of response and coupled with the poor solutions and problem solving, what could have been a one month family law case turned into over a year. Her lack of knowledge in family law and divorce was outstanding and one of the worst experiences in service through a professional that I have ever received. It is important when considering hiring Leslie you google her in depth which unfortunately was not done in this case. What could have been handled very easily either for lack of knowledge or because she wants more hours to charge has become a drawn out case rather than dealing with the problem for her clients and coming up with solutions to solve it she skirts around the problem and never actually addresses it so something that could have been resolved in less than a month is still being resolved a year later. Leslie has a true lack of empathy and understanding which you need when practicing family law for the children involved in the case. My experience has been that seeing her lack of caring, heart or empathy was not a good fit with our case. If you are looking for a lawyer who actually makes things worse between husband and wife and children then Leslie is your lawyer. If you want someone to help the problem and bring solutions to your divorce and family Leslie is not a lawyer that I would recommend. We have had a horrible experience with her and definitely one of the worst lawyers in service I’ve ever worked with.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
