Hired Attorney 2021The lack of communication this man and his assistant has with his client(s) is ridiculously off. Never received copies of any court filings, which is the minimum I have asked from him and his team. When you find out you are divorced from a communication with the ex and not even your own attorney is appalling and literally defeats the whole purpose of hiring someone to represent you.

Hired Attorney 2014-2015I am not going to pass judgement here I will just state the facts. vague contacts: then later will hit your balance for call him to tell him to do his job. Will never tell me what the strategy or the plan is, but charged me for insisting on what we do next. He made an agreement with the EX lawyer for me to start seeing my kids especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas, then he said he forgot to get the agreement to be ratified in court, as result did not see my kids for another 4 months. He used templates from other cases to submit my paperwork and I had to attract his attention to delete wordings from the other case. Later on he was supposed to send a letter to the EX to force her let me see my daughter, 2 month later when I asked him for a record of the letter, the address was wrong address, at that point I asked him to just go ahead and file, he refused and said if I don't like what he is doing I can go elsewhere, he ended up taking the balance, but he is a nice guy, just the facts

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
