Hired Attorney 2016As a client of Eric's, I was frustrated with his behaviors and lack of accountability. First off he had conversations with Charles Engel where he bad mouthed me to my Ex-wife and to him. That should never have happened. Worse yet, my kids were the ones that told me about his behaviors. I confronted him before a court hearing about this. In that conversation, his face turned red and I could tell he had done what my kids had told me. As a lawyer, you want someone to be on the same side of the court room. This guy is not and NEVER will be a professional lawyer. Do not hire. You were warned. To add to these complaints, I begged him to stop my ex wife from moving with my kids four hours away from Topeka to Lindsborg Kansas. My ex did this without the courts approval. His emails to him went ignored. At times, when I did into his office , he would talk over the top of me. Messages and emails to him always went ignored. This dude lacks total human skills as a person, especially with the pain and suffering of a divorce. DO NOT HIRE HIM! You could be the next person he bad mouths to opposing counsel. I was so disappointed. This dude is no fathers rights lawyer. If you want a good lawyer for Kansas check out Chris Barnds and stay clear away from this law firm/lawyer.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
