Consulted Attorney 2024-2025Mike Lombardi and his firm are the worst and most unprofessional law firms we have encountered. My son had an accident and he and his firm of ambulance chasers solicited our case expecting to get a chunk of the insurance settlement without lifting a finger. We were told by Mike himself that ours was a very strong case and they expected a large settlement from the insurance company which they would negotiate on our behalf. My son had broken his knee and shoulder in the accident when he was hit by a motorist while on a scooter at a busy intersection. He called 911 and was taken to emergency and we had all the hospital records. Mike and his associate Ryan Rotondo who 'worked' on our case did absolutely nothing to help us. They did not collect the necessary documentation or evidence that strengthened my son's case. They did not give us the right advice either. My son lay jobless injured in bed with a cast on his leg and a sling on his arm while the insurance company dragged matters for six months as our lawyers sat on their asses and finally rejected the claim on false grounds. To add insult to injury Mike Lombardi dropped our case and said they would not fight for us in court because 'they do not do litigation'. I guess the fact that Amrit was a brown student with no money or power on his side was a big factor in their decision. As long as there was money to be had from the settlement, they were in for the ride! Our mistake was to trust Mike Lombardi's smooth and insincere pitch and sign up with him rather than Morgan and Morgan who had approached us.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
