    Hired Law firm 2020
recruiter sent a lead feb 25th to me (hereinafter "client") about a job, followed up in person, was told to take a screening and submit personal info, and to wait for an opening at an open house. In the mean time, mentioned the referral to said company thru online portal via application. The entire process of onboarding thru the staffing agency was threatened to be shut down by the intake officer at doherty grand forks (beth M.). also, no direct response was given by doherty as to concerns regarding client to hirer communication, let alone the fact client was, during the time of initial expression of interest in the position, awaiting identity documentation in the mail, and this was seemingly used as an excuse by Beth in order to justify holding off on sending client thru to an interview. It was virtually impossible to get her to e-mail client on a number of occasions, and since this hold-up another recruiter sent an additional referral to this same job. Verified this was the case, still haven't heard back. E-mailed a number of higher-up recruiting agents at doherty about all/any of this and no response other than a very-far-away office woman called Elizabeth, who did not answer her phone when client called back. The latest transmission has been from Beth via a personal phone text sent to client stating that there are all-of-a-sudden currently no openings left at the company in question (Cirrus Aircraft). Advised cirrus of this very disorganized, poorly communicated and unprofessional arrangement of promises/offers/referrals/concerns and still with no apparent progress made with the recruiting agency as to whether or not their client would be able to go and see what the job is all about, see whether or not the interest is something that could blossom into an actual work opportunity (?). Very disorganized and confusing process, quite embarassed for doherty to be quite frank. original interview conducted in a confined space, personal information was at risk of being shared as another interview was taking place directly next to the desk the client sat. rushed interview, fairly insincere approach given by intake woman (beth M.). Beth became unavailable in haphazard intervals since feb 25th until just recently 19 march. almost an entire month with wasted intervals of effort looking to pursue an ultimately apparently non-existent job. total and complete *show. embarassed for them.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
